Cat-astrophe!
Rough Animation WIP

A happy kitten’s life gets turned upside down when her owners bring home a new kitten. Will these two learn to co-exist?
Although they are present in many of our lives, the emotions of cats are difficult to portray in many artistic media. Animations are uniquely able to create a sense of motion and time that other static media may not capture as well. Emotions often feature subtle, dynamic changes that animation is well-suited to portray, particularly in animals. However, showing complex emotions and relationships still poses a particular challenge and is underrepresented from the point-of-view of an animal in animation. Showing what it is like to live as a cat through POV shots increases viewer connection to the story and assists in depicting the emotions of cats. This can be further enhanced by taking advantage of color theory, with both the hue and saturation of the environment and the characters playing a role. By combining these techniques, animation can illustrate the emotions of cats and even show complex interpersonal relationships that change over time.
